I am lawyer with 27+ years experience in civil/commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Originally from Guatemala, Central America, I moved to Canada when I was 15 years old. I earned a Bachelor Arts in History and Geography from Western University, followed by a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws in Commercial Law (LLM) from Cardiff University. I was called to the Bar in Alberta in 1998; I represented clients at all levels of Alberta Courts and in the Federal Court. I then moved to Ontario, where I was called to the Bar in 2004; I represent clients at all levels of Court in Ontario and before tribunals.
In addition to the practice of law, I am a professor at Fanshawe College (Lawrence Kinlin School of Business), teaching a variety of law related courses. I am active in the business community as a member of the Leading Edge Network (2024 – Present), Business Network International (2025 – Present), and the London Chamber of Commerce (2012 – Present). When not busy with work, you will find me playing the piano or training at the dojo (currently brown belt in Shito Ryu Karate).
