Civil Litigation / Dispute Resolution

Efficient – Responsive – Effective

Throughout my career, I have represented individuals, small businesses and large corporations.  Large or small – all clients deserve efficient and cost effective advice.  By adopting a number of software platforms, I am able to respond promptly to client needs, without the need for multiple layers of staff clients often face when dealing with other lawyers.

Not all client matters are the same.  Sometimes, litigation is necessary.  On other occasions, the client is better served by effective representation in alternative dispute resolution – such as mediation and arbitration.  Whichever the route, I work collaboratively with clients to obtain favorable results.

Representative Cases:

Set aside interlocutory injunction preventing clients from competing against former employer in a complex commercial litigation matter involving interlocutory relief in the context of intellectual property rights and employment/fiduciary duties.

Successfully defended clients at trial against allegations of failing to disclose the condition of a property.  (Note – The trial decision was overturned at the Divisional Court, but restored at the Court of Appeal).

Represented employer in a claim against former employee / minority shareholder, resulting in employee being terminated and selling shares back to the client to retain exclusive control of the corporation.

Obtained favourable settlement for long term employee who was wrongfully terminated.

** In accordance with Chapter 4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, please note that past results are not necessarily indicative of future results and that the amount recovered and other litigation outcomes will vary according to the facts in individual cases.
